Default UK importing

I'm guessing customs will stop any airsoft guns (or at least if your not UKARA registered) but would it be possible to order a gun, but have someone dismantle it and have only certain parts, say the whole gun apart from the gear box? (possible the gearbox housing/body as well)

asking because I want to have a rail system on my MP5SD, so would it possible to buy a normal MP5 and have parts I need sent, and not have the gearbox to save on postage, and then buy a rail system from a normal MP5 as there more easier to come by.

thanks

you would need it seperated into a few parts to do it that way but as soon as you put it together your theoretically breaking the law but its just how you interpret the act.
Also a rail forgrip wont fit on a sd mp5.

What I want to do is have a foregrip on my MP5SD, I've found a rail system that goes on the MP5SD, it just replaces the curved handguard, but its over $300, which is alot for what I want, so I thought if I bought a rail system for a normal MP5 and the cocking tube of an MP5, which comparing an MP5 and and MP5SD, it looks like the cocking tube can replace the MP5SD's one, but cocking tubes are also fairly expensive.

So I though if I just bought an MP5 off RSOV and asked if I payed the full price, but have them take it apart and have the parts I need, mainly just the front of the gun, like cocking tube, front iron sight ect.

Think that's explained a bit better

Then replace the MP5SD cocking tube with a MP5 one and then an MP5's rail system would fit on, at least that's what I'm hoping

could you also delete my post on the other board here, thanks

I still dont think it is possible because the cocking tube is part of the SD front part (removing that removes the silencer)

I may be wrong.

How ever just import the gun and then prove your defence if stopped .

you dont need UKARA by law, you just need proof that you skirmish regulary at an insured skirmish site.

Also Customs wont stop every gun, I have had many that have never been stopped with my proof displayed anywhere on them. Its more likely to be stopped and hit with charges if you do display proof on there. If your unsure, just ring customs and ask them, explaining your situation and ask for advise.

ok cheers for the help, it seems to be possible, as I wont need be using the SD cocking tube and silencer after, basically just turning it into a normal MP5 by exchanging the cocking tube and front sight and then putting on a rail system

I think Importing yourself and clearing customs are the same thing. The only different scenario is Importing through a local Importer.

Importing yourself is buying through an Exporter and then clearing the car from customs and doing your own compliance. At least thats what I did and what I consider the definition of Importing yourself.
